Perspective
on the pharmaceutical industry
Over the past 30 years, the pharmaceutical industry has undergone a relocation from Europe to Asia. Currently, more than 60% of active pharmaceutical ingredients are produced in China and India.
On the other hand, the increase in regulatory requirements regarding the environment has greatly restricted production, generating significant tensions between demand (increasingly higher due to increased life expectancy and access to medicine) and supply (increasingly scarce).
The rapid economic development of China and India has generated millions of new consumers of local medicines, which are focusing the efforts of local producers, further aggravating the situation of high dependence of the rest of the planet on Asian producers.
This is an exceptional moment to revive the development and manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients of European origin. We are witnessing a turning point in the global pharmaceutical industry; CAPITAL FARMA is born.
